Discover what's happening around you — all in one place.

What this is

The Nearby page brings together everything close to you: businesses you can book, events this week, jobs, local services to hire, and community Hubs — with a map so you can see it all at a glance.

How it works

Arc uses your current location (worked out from your internet connection, never your exact GPS) to show what's near you. You'll see:

• Book nearby — beauty, health, restaurants and more you can book, within about 25 km.
• Events this week — what's on locally in the next 7 days (online events always show too).
• Jobs nearby — roles in your area (remote jobs always show).
• Hire nearby — local tradespeople and services.
• Community Hubs — groups to join.

Each item shows how far away it is — for example, "2.3 km away" — or the city it's in.

The map

At the top of the page, a map shows nearby businesses as pins, with a blue dot for where you are. Tap a pin to jump straight to that business.

Setting your location

• Your location is detected automatically. If it's wrong or missing, set your home city in Settings → Location, or use the location button at the top of the screen to override it.
• On a VPN? Arc uses your home city instead, so Nearby still works.

Common questions

How does Arc know where I am? From your internet connection — roughly, to your city. Your exact GPS is never used or stored.

Why don't I see anything nearby? There may be little happening in your area yet, or your location isn't set. Add a home city in Settings.

Can I change the area? Yes — set a different home city, or use the location override at the top.

Are online things included? Yes — online events and remote jobs always appear, wherever you are.

Troubleshooting

• The map didn't load — check your connection and refresh.
• Distances look wrong — set your correct home city in Settings → Location.
• Nothing shows — set your location, or check back as more is added near you.
• It shows the wrong city — you may be on a VPN; set your home city, which Nearby will use instead.
